1. What The Local Plot is

The Local Plot is an online directory for Belfast and the surrounding area. Each area has a map of 50 numbered plots. Businesses buy a plot for a year to get a listing page where local people can find them.

2. Prices

• Plots cost £15, £20 or £30 a year, depending on the plot's size and position.
• The price shown is the full price you pay. There are no extras or hidden fees.
• We're not VAT registered at the moment, so no VAT is added.

3. Payment and renewal

• You pay by card through Stripe, our payment provider.
• Your plot renews automatically every year at the same price unless you cancel.
• You can update your card, see invoices or cancel at any time from the billing section of your dashboard.

4. Holding a plot while you check out

When you start checkout, the plot is held for you for 5 minutes so nobody else can take it. If your payment arrives after the hold has ended and the plot has gone to someone else, your payment is refunded automatically in full.

5. Failed renewals

If a renewal payment fails, you have a 7-day grace period to sort it out. Your listing stays live during that time. If payment still hasn't gone through after 7 days, your listing is hidden and the plot is released for someone else to buy.

6. Listings and our review

We check every listing before it goes live. We can refuse or remove a listing that is misleading, illegal, offensive, or not a genuine local business. Where that happens, we'll give a refund where it's appropriate.

7. Your responsibilities

• You're responsible for making sure your listing, photos and any claims you make are accurate and that you have the right to use them.
• No fake reviews, and nothing that misleads customers.
• Keep your details up to date from your dashboard.

8. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time, and your plot simply won't renew. Your listing stays live until the end of the year you've paid for.

Refunds for the current year are at our discretion, except where the law gives you a right to one. If you're buying as a consumer, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of buying and get a refund. Nothing in these terms takes away your legal rights.

9. Our liability

We'll do our best to keep the site running and your listing visible, but we can't guarantee any number of visitors, enquiries or sales. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us for your plot. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Prices won't change for a plot you've already bought without telling you first.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of Northern Ireland.
